Types of interpreting

Conference interpreting:

Interpreting provided in public from one language to another.

Court interpreting:

Interpreting provided between two languages in a court session, police questioning or other legal contexts, possibly in public.

Liaison interpreting:

Interpreting provided between two languages and privately to small gatherings. So-called "negotiation" interpreting is liaison interpreting.
